The Sea Cadet Corps is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide information which could identify you when using this website, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.
The Sea Cadet Corps may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are content with any changes. This policy is effective from 1 September 2011.


What we collect
We may collect the following information:

  • Demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests
  • Other information relevant to customer surveys and/or offers


What we do with the information we gather
We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.


How we use cookies

You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.


Remittance terms
A credit card payment will normally be taken on the day of the order. The order confirmation and payment processing information will be sent by email. We use PayPal to make payments which is not under the direct control of the MSSC and as such refunds may take 2-4 working days.


Shipping information
We deliver within the UK using Royal Mail or Parcel Force. If you wish your products to be delivered outside the UK, please contact sccstores@ms-sc.org. Delivery is normally made within 7 working days. If the item is out of stock and delivery is likely to take over 30 days we will inform you of the expected delivery date and give you the opportunity to cancel the order.

If the delivery cannot be made a delivery card should be left by the courier/postal service. If nobody is able to accept delivery when attempted it is the customer’s responsibility to liaise with the courier for re-delivery or collection whichever is applicable. We encourage you to give a delivery address occupied during the daytime.


Cancellation
A customer’s rights are outlined under the EU Distance Selling Directive and the Sale of Goods Act 1979. You have the right to cancel the order within 7 days of receiving the items. You should give us notification of the intention to cancel either by post, mail or via email to SCC Stores within the 7 day period from receipt of the goods.


The Sea Cadets endeavour to provide products in an acceptable condition and as advertised on our website. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the product will fit your purposes and is suitable for your use.


Please note that you have a seven day cooling off period and right to cancel the order. You can cancel your order any time up to despatch (typically 1 to 2 days) by emailing us at sccstores@sea-cadets.org or telephoning 02392 723800. Our office hours are Monday to Friday 0900 to 1630.


However, if the goods have already been despatched, you must return them when received. If this is not due to a product fault or incorrect size this will be at the customer’s expense. A refund will be given when they are received back at SCC Stores. Products should be returned in the original packaging in the original condition.

Should items be delivered in an unacceptable condition, please contact us within 7 working days. Once the goods have been returned to us we will provide either a full refund or replacement if this is acceptable to the customer. The replacement will be delivered at the cost of the Marine Society & Sea Cadets.

VAT
All products on our site are sold inclusive of VAT if this is applicable. The Marine Society & Sea Cadet’s VAT number is GB 2372852 54.


Force majeure
The Seller shall not be liable to the Buyer under the terms of this contract or otherwise if the Seller’s breach of its contractual and/or other obligations to the Buyer are due in whole or in part to interruption and delay by reason of matters beyond its control (including but not limited to) acts of God, acts of any government, war, other hostility, civil disorder, the elements, fire, explosion, power failure, equipment failure, industrial or labour dispute and/or inability to obtain essential supplies and the like.


Applicable law
These terms and conditions of sale and the supply of the goods and/or services will be subject to English law, and the English courts will have jurisdiction in respect of any dispute arising from the contract
